What It’s Like Staying at Loews Royal Pacific Resort with a Baby (at Universal Orlando)

Planning a trip to Universal Orlando with a baby? We recently stayed at Loews Royal Pacific Resort with our little one, and while theme park trips definitely look different with a baby, this resort made our stay enjoyable and convenient. Here’s what we learned—and what you’ll want to know before booking your stay!

Arrival & Parking at Loews Royal Pacific with a Baby

Parking can be a bit of a challenge with a baby. There’s no dedicated check-in parking, and when we arrived, the self-parking lot was full. We ended up parking around the back of the resort and walking a good distance to the lobby, which was a bit of a challenge with the baby.

💡 Tip: If you’re traveling with a little one, valet parking is worth it for the convenience alone.

Early Check-In & Lobby Experience

Although check-in is officially at 4:00 PM, we requested early check-in and were able to get into our room around noon. While my husband checked us in, I grabbed an iced coffee at the Starbucks in the lobby. Everyone there was super friendly and they all wanted to play with the baby!

Room Location & Amenities for Families

Because we opted to check in early, our water view room wasn’t ready yet.  The front desk gave us the choice to wait, but we needed to get the baby down for a nap, so we took a standard room instead.

We stayed in Tower 3, and our room was:

  • Close to the elevator (but not close enough for the noise to wake up the baby)
  • A short walk to the pool
  • Super close to the water taxi dock

We also had a mini fridge in the room, which was super handy as a nursing mom who is also pumping! The fridge had plenty of room for bottles for the baby and bottles of water for us.

We requested a Pack ‘n Play for the baby, along with a razor (that I forgot to pack, oops). Both were delivered quickly, and the staff even brought a complimentary organic baby bath kit with lotion, wash, and a sponge. We had originally requested a pack n play on our room reservation, but with the room switch, I wanted to make sure that we still got it.

Pool Time with Baby: Relaxing and Fun

Once we were settled in our room, we spent the rest of the afternoon at the pool. We brought our baby’s float and confirmed with the lifeguards that it was allowed—they said that because it was small we were okay to use it.

We stopped by the towel stand to grab our towels and chair covers, and the guy who was working was super friendly and offered to help us find some chairs. He cleared off a few chairs for us and got it all set up. At this resort you can order food from your chair by the pool, but we opted to go sit at a table with an umbrella for some shade. My husband ordered the island hot dog and I had the chicken quesadilla. They were both delicious, and the portions were huge.

Later, we visited the kiddie pool, which was perfect for lounging with the baby. We had it entirely to ourselves for about an hour! Just a heads-up: the kiddie pool gets pretty sandy, so a post-swim rinse is a must.

Taking the Water Taxi with a Baby

That evening, we took the resort water taxi to CityWalk. It was:

  • Stroller-friendly (we didn’t have to collapse it, which is great because our stroller doesn’t get very compact when we take it apart)
  • There was only a 5 minute wait and it takes you right to the middle of City Walk.

I wore the baby in a wrap, and she actually fell asleep on the ride and stayed asleep while we walked around CityWalk. We grabbed ice cream at ColdStone and popped into the Super Nintendo World store before heading back to the resort.

In-Room Dining & Bedtime Routine

We loved our lunch so much that we ordered takeout from the poolside restaurant again for dinner. My husband stuck with the island hot dog, and I tried the chicken nachos—definitely big enough to share!

After getting the baby settled in the Pack ‘n Play, we turned in early ourselves. The room had cable TV, and it was fitting that there was a Harry Potter marathon for us to watch while winding down.

A Baby-Friendly Morning at the Parks

The next morning, we checked out around 8:30 AM (you can check out right from the in-room TV, which is amazing when traveling with a baby). Check out is technically not until 11:00, but we wanted to beat the heat and get to the parks early. We loaded up the car and took one last ride on the water taxi to Universal CityWalk.

Full transparency – there’s not much for babies to do in the parks at Universal. We went into it already knowing this and just planning on walking around to get some steps in and get some fresh air. We started at Islands of Adventure and it was time to feed the baby (and ourselves), so we stopped for breakfast at Crescent Moon Bakery. I was able to feed her at a table that was tucked in the corner, and my husband and I ordered breakfast. I had a bacon, egg, and cheese croissant, and my husband had a caprese sandwich, fruit, and potato salad (yes, at 9 AM!). We both had their nitro cold brew, and it was delicious.

After our lap of Islands of Adventure, we popped over to Universal Studios. Our daughter loves the water, so we went straight back to DreamWorks land where our baby enjoyed the splash pad—a great spot for little ones to cool off and burn some energy (with adult supervision, of course). David held her and let her splash around to get cooled off before we walked back out to the front to exit. (I also have to mention that we stopped at Starbucks on the way out for another iced coffee, because we’re on #teamnosleep – if you have a 5 month old, then you know what I mean!)

Is Loews Royal Pacific Resort Good for Families with Babies?

Absolutely! While there aren’t many attractions at Universal Orlando for infants, Loews Royal Pacific Resort makes up for it with:

  • Convenient room locations
  • Friendly and accommodating staff
  • Excellent pool and kiddie splash areas
  • Easy access to the parks via water taxi
  • Family-friendly amenities like Pack ‘n Plays and baby bath kits

💡 Pro Tip: Plan for more pool time than park time with a baby. You’ll still feel like you’re on vacation without the stress of long lines and crowded rides.

I also want to note that if you stay here, your room comes with Unlimited Express Passes in the park. We didn’t use them this time because our daughter couldn’t ride anything, but staying here is a great option if you want to skip the lines.

If you’re headed to Universal Orlando with a baby, Loews Royal Pacific Resort is a top pick for comfort, location, and thoughtful service. With a little planning (and maybe valet parking), your family can enjoy a stress-free stay filled with sweet memories—even with a tiny traveler in tow.
