Visiting Disney World with a Baby – A Park by Park Guide

Taking a baby to Walt Disney World might sound overwhelming, but with a little planning, it can be magical for the whole family. This guide shares baby-friendly one-day itineraries for each of the four Disney parks—Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom—featuring quiet places to feed and nap, attractions babies can enjoy, and restaurants that cater to families with little ones.

Magic Kingdom with a Baby

The Best Places to Feed Your Baby in Magic Kingdom

A top pick for feeding your baby in Magic Kingdom is the Baby Care Center. It’s located near Crystal Palace at the front of the park and has private nursing rooms, changing tables, high chairs, and a quiet space.  If you want to go somewhere outside or if the Baby Care Center is too crowded, try the shaded benches in Liberty Square or Fantasyland for bottle feeding.

The Best Places for Baby to Nap in Magic Kingdom

If your little one typically likes to nap in the car, try the People Mover in Tomorrowland! This is a long, calming ride (it even goes through a dark tunnel) where your little one can take a little snooze. If it’s cool enough for them to sleep outside, you can always have them nap on the hub grass in front of the castle (and you’ll have a castle view while they’re sleeping – how can you beat that?)

Baby-Friendly Attractions in Magic Kingdom

Here’s a list of attractions that you can do with your little one during your day at Magic Kingdom:

  • “it’s a small world”
  • Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room
  • Dumbo the Flying Elephant (with indoor play area while you wait)
  • The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
  • The Jungle Cruise
  • Under the Sea – Journey of the Little Mermaid
  • Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover
  • Mickey’s PhilharMagic
  • The Magic Carpets of Aladdin
  • Carousel of Progress (if they’re okay to be still for that length of time)
  • Country Bear Musical Jamboree
  • Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor
  • Enchanted Tales with Belle
  • Walt Disney World Railroad
  • Pirates of the Caribbean (just remember that there’s a drop at the beginning of the ride and no lap bar)

Baby-Friendly Restaurants in Magic Kingdom

  • The Crystal Palace (character buffet, high chairs, relaxed pace)
  • Columbia Harbour House (quiet upstairs seating)
  • Pinocchio Village Haus (great for watching “it’s a small world” boats)
  • Cosmic Ray’s Stardust Cafe (lots of options for tables in the AC)
  • The Diamond Horseshoe (when they’re open)

EPCOT

The Best Places to Feed Your Baby in Epcot

The Baby Care Center is located at the Odyssey Center near the entrance to the World Showcase. There are tables and chairs where you can feed older kids, and a nursing room for babies. If the baby center is full or you’d rather be outside, there are quiet benches in The Land pavilion or tucked-away spots near Japan Pavilion.

The Best Places for Baby to Nap in Epcot

The Friendship boats around World Showcase are a relaxing way to get baby to sleep and to catch a nice breeze.  There are also shaded walkways between Canada and the UK pavilions. You can find a seat close to the water. To get a nap in the AC, take the long ride through Living with the Land.

Baby-Friendly Attractions in Epcot

Here’s a list of attractions that you can do with your little one during your day at Epcot:

  • The Seas with Nemo & Friends
  • Turtle Talk with Crush
  • Journey into Imagination with Figment
  • Spaceship Earth (dark and slow-moving)
  • Living with the Land (a break in the AC!)
  • Gran Fiesta Tour (Mexico Pavilion boat ride)

Baby-Friendly Restaurants in Epcot

  • Sunshine Seasons (variety of foods and indoor seating)
  • Garden Grill (character dining in a rotating restaurant with booths – in the AC!)
  • La Cantina de San Angel (shaded outdoor seating near water – this is also a good place for baby to nap or to nurse)

Hollywood Studios

The Best Places to Feed Your Baby in Hollywood Studios

Full disclosure, the Baby Care Center (at the front of the park) in Hollywood Studios is not the best. There are 2 small nursing rooms that have curtain closures (meaning only 2 people can nurse at a time). The first time I went, they were both taken and there was a line of other people waiting to use them. The second time that I went they were both empty, so it really just depends. If you want to feed your little one outdoors, there are shaded areas near Echo Lake or around the back of Star Tours.

The Best Places for Baby to Nap in Hollywood Studios

Walt Disney Presents, the walkthrough attraction with a/c and benches, is a great place for a contact nap or even a stroller nap. If you’re okay with them napping outdoors, there is a shady, stroller-friendly spot near Toy Story Land exit.

Baby-Friendly Attractions in Hollywood Studios

Full-disclosure, this park is tricky when you have babies. There are no rides where you can wear a baby. For the attractions listed below, they have to sit up on their own. I don’t recommend this park for infants, unless you just want to walk around and people watch.

  • Disney Junior Play & Dance!
  • Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway (baby would need to sit on their own, and this one can be pretty jerky)
  • Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy
  • Toy Story Mania (babies can ride with adults, no height requirement, but they have to sit on their own)

Baby-Friendly Restaurants in Hollywood Studios

  • Hollywood & Vine (character buffet with high chairs)
  • ABC Commissary (roomy, indoor, baby-friendly menu items)
  • Woody’s Lunch Box (outdoor seating, fun kid meals)

Animal Kingdom

The Best Places to Feed Your Baby in Magic Kingdom

The Baby Care Center (behind Creature Comforts/Starbucks) in Animal Kingdom is definitely a favorite! It’s tucked away, quiet, offers large private nursing rooms, and is almost never crowded. If for some reason you can’t get a spot, or you just prefer to feed your little one outside, there is a quiet trail area near Tree of Life or near Gorilla Falls. There’s also a spot with tables and chairs near the water close to the front – it’s kind of a maze to find it (and kind of a secret spot so I won’t give the exact location ;), but I’ll post a picture below.

The Best Places for Baby to Nap in Animal Kingdom

One simple way to get a baby to nap is to ride the Rafiki’s Planet Watch Train. They can fall asleep on the train and then once you arrive, there are plenty of shady areas with benches where they can snooze for a while. Walking trails like Maharajah Jungle Trek and Gorilla Falls are other options if they’ll take a stroller nap (or baby wearing nap).
There are also shady spots near Flame Tree BBQ in the seating area (by the water).

Baby-Friendly Attractions in Animal Kingdom

Here’s a list of attractions that you can do with your little one during your day at Animal Kingdom:

  • Na’vi River Journey – you can baby wear on this one!
  • Festival of the Lion King and Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond! – these are great shows if your little one is able to sit through them
  • Kilimanjaro Safaris – you can baby wear on this one, too.
  • Rafiki’s Planet Watch (the train ride is a perfect time for a nap)

Baby-Friendly Restaurants in Animal Kingdom

  • Flame Tree Barbecue (shaded, quiet seating by the water)
  • Tusker House (character dining buffet)
  • Satu’li Canteen (healthy, build-your-own bowl options for parents, high chairs available)

Walt Disney World can be such a wonderful experience with your little one when you know where to go and how to pace the day. With baby care centers, shady spots for naps, and a surprising number of rides and shows suited for even the tiniest Mouseketeers, your day at the parks can be smooth, memorable, and magical.
