EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival with a Baby: Tips for a Fun, Easy Visit

While our baby isn’t exactly a baby anymore (she’s technically a toddler now, and honestly I can’t think about that too long or I’ll cry), she did experience the EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival last year as a baby. So between last year and this year, we’ve technically done the festival with both a baby and a toddler—and it’s honestly such a sweet experience.

A lot of people think festivals at EPCOT are more of an “adult thing,” but there’s actually so much for little ones to enjoy. From bright flowers and fun character topiaries to the butterfly garden, it can feel a lot like a colorful outdoor playground for babies and toddlers. If you’re visiting with a stroller and a diaper bag in tow, here are a few things that made the day easier and more fun for us.

Visit the Butterfly Landing

One of the most magical spots for little ones during the festival is Butterfly Landing, the walk-through butterfly garden that’s set up each year during Flower & Garden.

Even babies seem fascinated watching the butterflies flutter around. There are tons of colorful flowers and plants, and butterflies often land nearby, which makes it really engaging even if your baby is just observing from the stroller or from your arms.

It’s also a nice slow-paced experience where you can stroll through without feeling rushed, which is always a win when you’re navigating a theme park with a baby.

Let Them Look at the Character Topiaries

The character topiaries are everywhere during the festival, and babies love them more than you might expect.

They’re big, bright, and easy for little ones to spot. Our daughter loved pointing at the different characters, and it was a fun way to move through the park—almost like a little scavenger hunt as we looked for the next one.

Some of the most popular topiaries are right near the entrance of EPCOT and around World Showcase, so you’ll see plenty without needing to go out of your way.

Grab a Few Festival Snacks

One of the best parts of the EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival is all the seasonal food booths around the park, and thankfully, grabbing snacks is pretty easy to do with a baby in tow.

The festival booths are set up all around World Showcase and the front of the park, so you’ll pass plenty just by strolling. This makes it easy to grab something when your baby is happy in the stroller or while they’re taking a little break.

If you’re holding a baby or pushing a stroller, handheld items are definitely the way to go. Things like flatbreads, grilled corn, and small dessert cups are easy to manage while standing or sitting nearby. The festival desserts are also great for a quick sweet treat when you need a little energy boost halfway through the park.

We also like to find a shady spot or a table near the booth and take a few minutes to sit down. It gives everyone a chance to recharge, and babies are usually happy to relax for a few minutes and people-watch while you enjoy your snack.

Take Advantage of Indoor Breaks

If you’re visiting with a baby, planning a few air-conditioned breaks can make the day so much smoother.

EPCOT actually has several great spots where you can cool off, relax for a few minutes, and give your baby a break from the heat. Some easy options include browsing inside the Land Pavilion, exploring the aquarium in The Seas with Nemo & Friends, or taking a slow ride on Living with the Land.

These little breaks can help reset everyone’s mood and keep the day enjoyable instead of overwhelming.

Bring a Stroller and Take Your Time

Flower & Garden is one of the prettiest times to visit EPCOT, and it’s the kind of festival that’s perfect for strolling.

With a baby, there’s no need to rush. Take your time walking through the gardens, stop when something catches your eye, and let your little one take in all the colors and movement around them.

Honestly, some of our favorite moments were just slow walks through the festival areas while our baby looked around from the stroller, completely fascinated by everything.

Flower & Garden with a Baby – is it worth it?

If you’re wondering whether it’s worth visiting the EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival with a baby, the answer is absolutely yes.

Between the butterflies, the character topiaries, and all the bright flowers everywhere you look, there’s plenty of visual magic for little ones to enjoy. Add in a few indoor breaks and a relaxed pace, and it can turn into a really special day for the whole family.

And if you’re anything like me, you’ll probably spend half the day watching your baby experience it all—and wondering how they’re growing up so fast.
